nothing really important...

Here are a few things I've been thinking about lately...

#1 - I love girl scout cookies. How come they are so good? Is it because they are $4.00 a box? I would never pay $4.00 a box for any other cookie ever, but these are so yummy...

#2 - The daughter of my boss is pregnant and we have a poll going at work to see who can guess the closest to when she will have her baby and the winner receives a $50.00 Texas Roadhouse gift certificate!! I stuck with the due date and guessed Feb 28th...and I'm looking like the one to beat! Jose guessed Feb 25th...and Danielle guessed March 2nd...so if she has her today Jose gets it. But, if she has her tomorrow or Sunday I WIN!! Then if she goes on March 1st it will be between me and Danielle cause thats right between what we guessed. (we had to guess a weight too, in case of a tie)...so...I'm feeling pretty good about it cause from what her mom and doctors say she could go any day... I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

#3 - I really, really want to be friends with Jorge Garcia. I don't have some sort of crush on him or want to date him, cause I'm sure his girlfriend Beth wouldn't appreciate that...but I just want to be friends with him. Them. Both of them. They just seem like a fun couple of people...

#4 - And last but not least....why is number sometimes abbreviated as No.

The parents...

So my parents have been visiting this weekend. They flew in Thursday night and they fly out tomorrow...and we have had a grand old time! I was an awful picture taker...but I thought I would recap our weekend quickly...

We started Friday by visiting my office and driving around downtown Phoenix a little. Stacie me up with us later that day and spent pretty much the rest of the weekend with us. That night we went and saw Mary Poppins that was playing here in town! It was cute...quite a bit different than the Disney movie...and quite a bit longer...but still really cute!

Then Saturday we went grocery shopping and then drove up South Mountain (and I forgot my camera which made me really mad) and saw the gorgeous view of the valley from way up there. Then we shopped at Lane Bryant and got my mom a couple of pairs of jeans that actually fit here (needless to say they were about 2 or 3 sizes smaller than what she's been wearing) and then went to Stacies house that night and played cards with her and her family!

Sunday we went to church and then came home and made dinner for all my roommates and just hung out and and my dad made CINNAMON ROLLS which were DIVINE!!

Today we got up and went to breakfast at T.C. Eggingtons and then headed over to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. It was raining lightly off and on the whole time we were there, but it was still ok. As you can see my parents had a very 'hands on' experience at the zoo! You are so close to most of the animals you can't help but to reach out and pet them! Then we did a little more grocery shopping and then had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory with Whitney.

It was a good time...and I'm so glad they came! I wish they could stay longer, but life has to move on I guess. I feel bad that they are going back to nasty blizzards and cold, and it's only going to get nicer and nicer here over the next few days!

A lil' of this...lil' of that...

I just signed up for the very first time to win a giveaway on a blog!! It's on Make It And Love It ...and she is giving away a gift certificate for vinyl wall decor found at Wordy Bird. I've never done anything with vinyl...but I don't think it would take me long to love it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed...and you should go ahead and sign up too!

Meanwhile...not much is going on over in my little world. I have gotten a couple of good deals that I need to share because I'm a girl and we like informing people of the good deals we encounter! I have been on the lookout for a desk or table or something to keep in my room to do my crafts on because right now I keep all of my supplies in my closet and it is a PAIN IN MY (huge) BUTT to drag it out every time I want to make something...so I haven't been doing very much lately. So Ashlie is moving the last few things out of her room and she has this ugly (sorry) vanity thing that has a huge mirror and bulletin boards and lights on it...and she was going to throw it all away. So they took it apart yesterday to get it out to the dumpster and when she got down to the last piece, I took one look at it and it was EXACTLY what I had been looking for! It is a high desk with 6 cubbies going down the sides (I preferred it to be high because we only have a high top table with high chairs in my house right now)...Anyway, so I got my desk for free!

And while I was at Target yesterday I was looking for a pair on white shoes to wear at this wedding I am in and I didn't find those but I did find super cute pair of black flats for $3.50. (Me and Stacie went back and forth on who was going to get them, and I ended up with the deal!) I also found a huge bouncy ball that is filled with purple water and glitter....but it was $7.99 (major rip off) so I forced myself not to get it even though I wanted it really really bad.

And in other news my favorite shows are all starting again! Lost started last week...but this week Survivor and The Amazing Race start as well! And then I supplement the rest of my week with the usual Jeopardy, Modern Family and The Office. (Have I mentioned before that everyone should watch Modern Family...)

The good and the bad...

The Good:

*Today I got to go to Staples with the office Staples card. I love that!

*I got my blog prize from my sister Tacy on Saturday!! I haven't taken a picture of it yet...but I will soon and I'll show you all the talent that Tacy has...

*I have kept my bedroom reasonably clean for the past week or so...that is always good news

*When filing my taxes this year I only have to file for two jobs and one state...unlike last year where it was 6 jobs and two states...

*The weather here is PERFECT... it is perfectly cool during the day and at night there is just enough chill in the air to sleep with your bedroom window open and you still want to have a blanket or two on...

*My parents are going to be here in 10 days!!

The Bad:

*I think I have a gallbladder issue. I have had a few 'attacks' and everyone has told me that's what they think it is...so I finally went to the doctor last week and I am scheduled to have an ultrasound and blood work done tomorrow to see...unless I'm too fat for the ultrasound...then we'll do something else I guess... (but...on the good side of things...I got a prescription for Vicoden :)

*My parents are only staying for 4 days...

*I talked to my mom this morning and she told me that my Grandma is probably not going to live much longer. Like...maybe a month or two. I am not very well acquainted with death, so it's weird for me to think about. I've known a few people who died...but no one that was REALLY close to me or related to me, or, I was too young to know or remember them.
For as long as I can remember my grandma has been 'frail'...and especially these last few years she has gotten sicker and in a way...(and most of my family agrees with this I think) she has been ready to die. At least it seems that way. So, I'm sad...and I will be crying like baby when that day comes I'm sure...but I think it will be a good thing. I do worry about my Grandpa though...it's weird to think of him without Grandma... but I guess there is a comfort knowing that this life isn't the end...and eventually we will all be one luscious family together again (I think I will write a song called 'One Luscious Family Together Again...sounds like a winner)
