It is my calendar after all...

The other day I needed to write something on my calendar at work for May 4th. But...oddly enough...that day was already filled with these random...yet obviously caldendar worthy...holidays:

May Day (NT,AU)
Labour Day (QLD,AU)
Dodenherdenking (NL)
Early May Bank Holiday (IRL,UK)
Green Day (JP)
The entire box was filled up to the top with these foreign holidays. I'm sure that the Early May Bank Holiday is really important in Ireland, but is it necessary to put on a calendar that will be sold world wide?
I suggest it isn't.
(Dodenherdenking is "held annually on May 4 in the Netherlands. It commemorates all civilians and members of the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands who have died in wars or peacekeeping missions since the outbreak of World War II." Thank you wikipedia...)

Adendum...

I think I forgot to mention you can vote for my bag every day if you want...no pressure though...

Fun Little Contest...

I went to the website for my local grocery store to see if they had their weekly ads online...and while I was on the site, I saw they were having a 'design a shopping bag' contest...

So I did...

And if enough people vote for it I could win a shopping card!

Vote here!

I think that page brings you to a page and you can 'search' the bags. If you just search for the first name Katy, last initial N and the city Tempe, you should see my bag...

Thanks!

No he didn't...

Here are a few things I've overheard my boss say:
-"Well, really, your wife does need to lose some weight. Both your wife and your daughter."
-"Ya...well...everyone dies." in response to someone who told them they had a rough weekend because someone in their family died.
-"There is not one good looking person that works here...we will not get any business based on our looks" on why we shouldn't put a picture of us on one of our mailers.
Sometimes all I can do is shake my head and thank heaven he is not face to face with whoever he is talking to because he's bound to get slapped...

Presents...good and bad...

Well a lot has happened this week...
Let's start from the very beginning...

Tuna flew home on Monday (of last week) and then me and Tacy didn't do anything blog worthy between then and Saturday...
Saturday morning Ashlie, Tacy and I drove up South Mountain because Tacy really wanted to see a lizard while she was here, and Ashlie thought that would be prime lizard viewing territory. It wasn't...but we did get some pictures...

Tacy flew home that afternoon...

The next couple days were lovely mail days...I received 2 blog give-away gifts! I don't know how I got so lucky, but I got another pair of earrings from Jaime (I really like them, but was not successful AT ALL in taking a decent picture of them)...

And from my former roommate Emily...I got these super neat personalized handmade cards! A set of 4! I think I am going to keep them for when the brand 'Emily' is all famous, I can have a set of original Emily Brand gift cards! It'll be worth millions...(The bottom picture is a front and back photo, with the envelope)

In not so good presents...I woke up Sunday morning to Ashlie texting me from our friend Whitney's house telling me that I couldn't use the bathroom because every time you flush a toilet, it backs up into one of the showers. YUCK! She had to clean 'poo' out of her shower that morning. So, I went over to Whitney's house and got ready (I had to go to work that day...crappy), then I pretty much went right back to Whitney's house after I got off work. Later that night, Ashlie went home and Alice had flushed the toilets again and this time it had seeped up into my shower/bathtub, and when I came home that night to get stuff to sleep over at Whitney and Jillians, I check out the bathroom and almost vomited! The tub was covered in...poop! And hairballs and drain gunk..and here's the kicker...TAMPONS!! SICK!!!

I called Tiffany this morning, and she got a plumber over to the house, and as you can imagine, the whole clog was caused by tampons! Disgusting huh! I always thought it was common knowledge that you shouldn't flush tampons. I know they say you can, but I've always heard you should never.

Well, rest assured, there will be no more tampon flushing at our house any more!

All in good time...

Oh goodness...lots to blog about...and I can't decide whether or not to do it all in one blog or break it up into multiples...

I'll just do it all in one shot...
Tacy and Jessie have been visiting me this weekend. It has been good times...

On Saturday we decided to go to the Desert Botanical Garden where Chihuly artwork is on display. I had seen some of his work at the Missouri Botanical Garden a few years ago...so it was cool to see it again...
It had been off and on rainy that day, which made it BEATUIFUL walking around weather.

Then...later that night...we colored Easter eggs!!

The next day was Easter Sunday...we didn't do a whole lot...church...dinner...and took pictures of ourselves...

Of course...nothing quite like the olden days!!!

Then tonight (Monday) I was at Target buying some things for a friends late Easter basket...and I found this treasure!!!

Good times...

So I am freshly home from my weekend in Utah! It was so good to see everyone again! It gets too be way to long inbetween visits!
We started off Saturday morning with the 49th Ward reunion. There weren't tons of people there...but enought that I'm glad we did it! In attendance were B/S Weyland, Alanna Comer (Powell) and her husband, Kaysi Webster (Booth) and her two kids, Ali Baugh and her daugher, Nicole and her husband and their kid, Sarah and Steven and one of their kids, Jennie Mack Bush and her kids, Murph and her husband and their daughter, Alyssa...and I think that was it. (I'm sorry if I forgot someone) Oh, Rodney came down for the weekend...even though he wasn't 'in our ward'...he was practically a roomate for 2 1/2 years...so it wouldn't of been the same without him. After the reunion, Me, Rodney, Jennie and her kids all went to Temple Square to see 'the big Jesus' and then over to the Church History Museum so the kids could play in the childrens area. After that we all went to dinner and just hung out for a while. The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out and playing lot of Hand and Foot!
It was a really fun weekend....I'm sad we all live so dang far apart and we can't get together like this more often...
Here are a few pictures from the weekend:
